What are the reasons behind companies not wanting to sponsor H1-B's
I've had multiple phone calls with recruiters where they like my work experience, I'm a good fit for the role in their opinion, we discuss all sorts of things and then they ask what my work status is, and once I mention that I'm on my STEM OPT, that's when the conversation comes to end, as they let me know that they don't sponsor.
I understand that they have to pay for it, but what's the cost of that compared to how much they will make from hiring a experienced developer who's hungry for work and will likely stay at the company for a couple of years at the least, if they aren't completely bad.
Also how do I filter out which companies will sponsor easily on websites like LinkedIn and Indeed etc. They don't have a inbuilt filter for that like Stack overflow jobs does and most Job Posts don't mention wether the company is open to sponsorship.
I know I could search the company name in some online database for past H1B and green card applications such as myvisajobs.com but that process is tedious when making a lot of job applications
Is there a better way, maybe a browser plugin etc ?

Also H1B sponsorship is a complicated legal affair that involves a dedicated team. Not every company has the funds or the incentive to do such a thing. It's not simply "they have to pay for it".
When you're in a foreign country, you must put that entitlement to an end and think about how you're a guest in the country and how lucky you are, still every high paying company is more than happy to sponsor your visa.
We don't care that you're offended.

Also I’m all for calling for h1b consulting firms for what they are but this isn’t it.
Nice advertisement though
Medical doctors from systems recognized by the US sometimes experiences waves of shortages that open the door for immigration as well.
From what I’ve heard you have to be really exceptional and persistent to have a chance.
