Needs help prepping with Google UX interviews

Sep 29, 2021 6 Comments

Hi everyone!

Google has been my dream company to join for a decade, so I was really excited when a recruiter reached out and subsequently put me into the process. This is a rare opportunity and I'm motivated to seize it!

With that being said, I wanna be as prepared as possible for the interviews. So if you've been through the interviews before or is/was a current design googler, any tips or sample questions/answers via here or DM would be really appreciated! I'll buy a virtual rounds for everyone if I ever make it :))

It’s annoying as it means making dedicated assets for Google as this isn’t an issue with other companies where you can reuse one deck purely for great presentations. I suspect this is an aspect of Google’s engineering lead culture as designers know this is not a great way of doing things :)

    • At least it's batter than banking industry. Decks are optimized for offline reading first and every square inch is cramped with data, figures and text.. each one is literally a mini book. When I first started, I basically need to rework my clean presentation into that monstrosity.
