1.5 to 2 crore annual comp offer achievable in India?

Planning to apply for a principal PM/Pgm/TPM roles in India and have a question - is 1.5 to 2 cr range realistic to expect? I know for sure that 1+ cr TC is doable (through network) but I am not sure if 2 cr is within the realm of possibility. I almost thought that’s not possible but then I saw few blinders suggesting 1.5-2 cr is something they have heard in their network. I want to move but also don’t want to get low-balled by either the recruiter or worst myself! Would really appreciate if anyone has real factual data points on TC from Amazon (L6/L7), Microsoft(L65+), Flipkart(no idea what level) etc. (TC = Base+Stocks). I have already looked at Blind threads but it seems more of speculations than factual. Also like in the US, are there reliable salary comp sites in India? thx

  • SDEs and data scientists with 10+ yoe are easily getting 1.5+ these days. The max TC I have heard for 10+ recently is 4cr..

      Amit Agarwal head of Amazon 3.3 cr is just the fixed cash. You really think he made just that as TC ?? 😀 Would be more in range of 10+cr he would have a lot of stock grant for sure

      Actually that’s what the post is about....I myself was in disbelief until I heard anecdotal from 2 folks. Of course they may be exceptions but that’s what I want to verify and not shoot myself in the foot when negotiating.

    I know a friend in Flipkart, at senior EM his base salary was 1 CR, bonus of 20% and stocks more than 50 lacs per year. Here its 1.7+ cr per year.

    1.5 Cr is definetly possible in top 0.5%ile in 10+ years age group.

      My TC as an L7 in Year 3 is 70L base + 1Cr in RSU vesting this year which makes it 1.7Cr

      Not sure about 10 but I remember seeing 12. Check some jobs from Amazon on Naukri. Not sure if Microsoft matches or beats. But the real question is if 1+cr is something they are openly advertising, then what’s the upper range that can still be achieved realistically.
