They contacted recently. Said they seek to be in the US only for talent; but their recruitment and HR processess were completely off the norms and practices here in the US. They were imposing their Bangalore style practices here; just as bad as the Chinese companies who have set shop here e.g., bytedance, tencent.

  • What the fuck is a US work culture? United States is an economic zone, i.e. a playground for Billionaires, not really a country - it doesn't have a culture.

Don’t make the issue wrt FK - a private company founded by Indian citizens and hqed in Singapore and now largely owned walmart into a National/ race matter. This has nothing to do with the nation India or its people or its govt

    • Absolutely not the intention. Of course every company has its issues and very valid to highlight them. I think you missed @salesforce was the one to classify particular nationalities. I was giving a reason to help him qualify his understanding better, which seems flawed. Best will be to see how apparent slaves will be running most of these companies in a few years and more than 50% developers will be from India.

FK is know for poor HR paractices even in India. It's not a very well run company. You should check the rate of turn over when they hired a lot of Google folks just in 2015 nome of them lasted by 2016/7.
Now they are a division of Walmart so things might have changed, but I doubt it.

You are right, but I'll not bet on RSUs, had it been a public company then it was a different think. You would be better off joining W Labs or AMZN. Now the valuation may also be questionable given that AMZN is higher in key categories than FK except for fashion I guess. IPO ship has long sailed, ask from people who were there at the time of acquition of W, what was the buyback and how much of money they were able to cash out. I herd there were many paper millionaires. They used to have BayArea group which they dismanteled post 2018. Not sure why they built the new one in Seattle again.

I see. They are not expanding to the US but as I wrote they are setting shop just to hire ‘special domain specific’ talent for India ops.
