Is it true that retail pharmacy is
1 Paying lower
2 But have better wlb
3 Easier to get in once you have 2+ yoe
Than university hospital? + almost inpossible to come back/move to hospital since retail pharm job is shitty
My pharmD friend told me that going to cvs or duan pharm is the end of carrier and is way lesser previleged than hospital including the TC.
It sounds very rude and annoying and wanna get some datapoint to dispute !!

1. Retail can pay more with OT
2. Retail is horrible. CVS/Walgreens/any chain is trash. Independents are usually more chill. Working at CVS/Walgreens is the equivalent of working at an Amazon FC imo. At least mentally.
3. Hospital is harder to get into in general cos you have a lot of senior pharmacists that are basically tenured and spots don’t open up all the time for external hires. The reason being is that the pharmacists who are that desperate for any hospital job will end up starting with the nightly shift which is basically hell but those pharmacists get priority when one of the older pharmacists leave.
Pharmacy in general is shit. Industry is the only thing thats interesting.
