Hi, I’ve been preparing for possible APM interviews for Fall ‘19. I’ve been doing a lot of research and reading up on the PM role, but one thing I’m looking for clarity on is the extent of programming knowledge that required for the noted companies above.

I’m currently an IT ‘Project’ Manager, I’ve taken a couple PM bootcamps at general assembly, and I work in on an agile software development team full time. I’m also finishing my MS in Software Engineering Q4 this year, courses include Data structures & Algorithms, design patterns, and advanced programming all with Java.

Should I expect algorithmic questions? Or should I primarily nail down core Product Management principles? Vision, Strategy, Design, metrics, estimation etc? Sorry for wall of text!
