Meta rant

I saw a couple of posts/ poll later about what's great about Meta. I think the key point here is under the currrent leadership, the company is unlikely to do anything beneficial for users. Watch the keynote. What they envision is strapping users in a literally unreal world, just like how they have strapped 1/2 of American in 2016. And we all know they then would just feed you more and more ads. If you want to know what it's going to be like, watch S1 E2 of Black Mirror. And who is buying that creepy pair of glasses with recording cam? Spy and perv?! Meanwhile they could do so much more great things. Like Marketplace is great for local shopping. But well I guest it's not where the $ comes from, it's all that matters right?

And dont deflect buy asking what about Amazon, we're the greatest employer on Earth 😉 Or at least we're striving to be. Hell we're powering local businesses and out SDE 2 even pays more than Netflix, if you haven't seen the 100 posts I added last week to meet my recruitment quota this quarter 😉
