We all know that zoning regulations are to blame for low supply of houses.
Human tendency is to blame these zoning regulations as they do not let you get into a house and drive prices to the sky. The same people after buying the house start loving the zoning regulations.
How many of you think that the problem will get so worse that one day it will become inhabitable and companies and the new generation will just move out. What will then happen to the house prices ?

We enjoy living outside. Stop converting our environment.
I don't understand the rest of your post. Even if housing units stayed constant for decades, eventually the high cost would cause the migration of new college grads to this area to stop, and start moving to other tech hubs. There's no reason to believe tech companies would reduce their offices in Silicon Valley. They would at most stop growing entirely.
That people won’t be able to afford houses? Move to other places like east San Jose and you won’t have problems with your budget. Can’t have your cake and eat it too.
