800 GBP gets you a whole apartment in the outskirts of London. With very reasonable commute by train to the center if you need
Plenty of options under 800 GBP, just don't forget about hidden extras (council tax, utilities, broadband). Two train stations with direct trains to the center, 15-20 min ride. One of them (east) also has trains to easyjet's gatwick airport - all of europe within easy reach. Too bad quarantine laws f ed up the travel :(
If you go a bit more south to Purley there's a huge Tesco hypermarket right near the station, I'm considering moving there next when my let expires
