hello friends need your advice I have 12 years of experience in IT. I came to US in 2014 through infosys. I was working with them until last year for TC 96k. I then interviewed for so many companies including FAANG. Nothing worked and then joined as contractor to cisco for TC 133k. I know my TC is extremely low for 12 yoe even less than coll grad. Currently my perm is filed hence will need to wait for close to 8 to 12 months to have my i140 approved including wait for 6 months. I have an engineering and part time MBA from India. Do you think persuing MS here will help my situation or should I just LC and try big companies after an year?
Off topic but how was you experience at infosys? Like did you regret it?
I worked 7 years at infosys. They are better than other service based companies. Okay to work in India but not in US. I wouldn’t say I completely regret but I should have moved as soon as I came to US. Shouldn’t have spent 4 years here.
Yes. Infy doesn’t value its employees.
That’s true . I left Infy out of frustration. No real hike, promotion or green card though I had first rating through out tenure at Infy
People do MS only to enter US. It won’t add any value at this stage. Better leetcode.
Try Software Test Engineering, and automation/QA jobs at FANG. The interviews are easier. MS not needed. Salaries are only a bit lower than development jobs. After a year or two, you can transfer to a SDE position
Never show your mba to anyone unless you move to product. Mba from India means less than nothing. Mba from us means very little, especially for engineers

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
MS for credibility and LC for interviews.
