Single, no tax deductions, you'll be paying ~35% to all taxes. Leaves you with $78k after tax. Fremont area is cheap compared to rest of bay area if you decide to live there. You can get room in a house or apartment for less than 1500 easy. Many places I've seen renting out close to $1k.

For a family of three you need at least a one bed apartment which costs 2000 min in Fremont. Where do you get it for 1500 ?

I would highly recommend do 401k at least whatever is the company match and max out ESPP if applicable. Donā€™t leave free money on the table, itā€™s far better than cash in bank
