But ideally, I'd go try to work at companies who deal with serious distributed systems on a daily basis e. g. Google, Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, LinkedIn (and not MS), Uber, Spotify, Booking.com, it's hard to understand how these systems work exactly without seeing them.
