What do you think of Reddit in general and of its upcoming IPO? Worth joining ahead of it?

Reddit is paying good for new joiners. I personally know a few folks from FB and Uber joined at a level+1 or 2 and equivalent F/G comp. Only thing is they will offer you the RSU on the 1.5 times the current valuation(15 B face value vs 10B valuation).

They have the similar(bigger) monetization problem as Twitter. OP - it would not be very different scenery than Twitter.

Is it shit though? Offers are on a large upwards trend recently. They beat my Meta offer (which was max E5 offer in Canada). Seen some other threads where they are over 400k USD for senior. All based on 10B valuation. If you’re not certain salaries are shit, it’s pretty unfair to spread misinformation because people may not apply then and could miss out on an opportunity.

400k for a E6 is way below what meta/google/amazon offer these days.

If they are giving out great offers, more people like you will speak up and reddit will attract talent. I can only highlight my experience.

Reddit comp is so bad, that makes sense on why some of their design decisions are crap. They can’t afford good devs or designers.
