Now that Amazon's stock has flatlined for 2 years and it looks to be trending down this year, will they continue this practice for offers and refreshers? Your TC is actually shrinking if 15% growth isn't achieved each year.

They should abolish this formula. No other company goes out of their way to screw employees this way.

Do you even know what you’re talking about? The 15% is a guarantee, I.e. they make up the difference with refreshers if the stock doesn’t grow 15% a year so that year 3 and 4 comp match year 1 and 2 comp.

I can’t imagine the amount of money left on the table because my countrymen lack the English skills to properly understand what’s in the offer letter.

It is a complete fraud. It doesnt factor in any market cycles. If something compounds 15% every year, it doubles every 5 years.
Given current 1tn base , i say it is impossible. Hence frauding employees.

From what base? Now it is 1.3 trillion company. Prime members dont grow on trees. American household is not Musk’s household like 8 kids, 4 women and multiple mattresses.
Only star is aws and it grows 40%. Best thing amazon can do is to shut down retail and put everyone to aws and take over the whole cloud market.

No one's upset at every dip. The stock has flatlined for 2 years, and this year will be 3 (already projecting a loss for Q2)

Amazon will only consider raising your TC to get you to your TCT target, not make up for 15% expected performance each year. Historically it hasn't been a problem, until now...

Don’t overreact. Split is coming. Let’s see in 8 months time. Amazon fundamentals are really strong. But I’d say it’s pay is lower than other company. The only selling point of amazon is that you can be a total asshole and no one will bat an eye. So if you love being a dick, stay at amazon, if you respect yourself, leave!

  • They've been folding this growth into a TC formula 10 years ago, they are still doing it. And even claiming the 'growth' is your benefit. No other company made such explicit claims.
