Real talk: in what way private schools are better than public in nyc?
Does your manager put a brief summary of your 1:1s in a quip doc, or does that mean you’re going to be pipped?
Not a good thing when documentation starts .
My manager told me (at least) he will start using quip to record and that will be used for OLR purpose...
Often times this means you’re in dev list. That said, they could just be doing it for organization reasons. I don’t want to be the “lol better start applying to jobs guy”, because frankly there’s no way for us to know. The truth is that documenting 1:1s is a requirement for dev list, so either you’re on focus or your manager just likes documentation for documentation’s sake. Documentation is helpful in any case though.
Why are people so paralyzed by pip fear. Seriously keeping docs of your 1:1s is just good practice, helps maintain context and keep actionable items for both parties. Helps identify problems ahead of time and address them. I did it at my previous company and it's the same here. If your manager really is out to get you with pip, then I think the quip doc is the least of your worries and you should start looking anyway.
I use Quip for 1:1 with my team on the regular. Nothing meant beyond having a central place to capture notes and topic starters. How else do you host 1:1? Generally curious if there are whether better ways?
It can be 3 things: 1. Your manager is hella organized 2. On PIP 3. On promo path
I use quip for taking notes in my 1:1s too. My directs have access to it to add topics for discussion in their next 1:1 or to read the notes from previous meetings. They most often don’t do that though, so it just helps me stay organized 😄
Microsoft use Quip 👏
I don’t think they do, probably moved to Amazon.
I thought quip was a toothbrush. 🤔
Maybe you can ✍️ documents with a 🪥
