Looking at all the gig economy companies (Doordash, Uber, Lyft) it seems like Uber and Lyft have been doing terribly since IPO with no real recovery in sight (Uber stock is back down to 2014/2015 409A/PreferredPrice).
Doordash seems like the only one which is keeping its levels (4x from pre-ipo 409A).
What will be the future for Instacart? Doordash trajectory or Uber/Lyft trajectory? #tech

Maybe when it was the only grocery game in town it might justify 40B but it is only downhill from here when the two biggest gig economy companies (with billions of dollars in cash) are competing against Instacart.
That plus the fact that DD and Uber are going to take away some of Instacart’s core business but Instacart isn’t going to take away some of Uber or DD’s core business (rides and food delivery).
I’m with you, I wouldn’t step in one as a planned purchase for the same reason, but sometimes I just want a snickers bar or something …
And if I already order from a restaurant and it comes together, at no additional cost - why not ?
It’s not instead of grocery , it’s a different thing.
You can look at your dashboards and would be able to answer the questions better than any of us.
