This feels good, man. So fucking high on happiness right now. Would love to listen to any life or career advice from the old and wise. Edit: Got a lot of questions about my story so here it goes. Started casually programming around 12-14 with C lol. That was a bad idea and it was pretty intensive for my brain so left it until 17. Started seriously programming in Python then. I started with the book "Automate the Boring Stuff" and started doing a bunch of small projects on Reddit. r/SlaveLabour and r/ForHire if anyone's interested. In around a year I did hundreds of small-scale projects ranging from $100-$500. Some of them were pretty interesting projects to talk about. I had some reputation in those subreddits. A recruiter from the current company texted me on Reddit and said if I would like to work as a contractor. I completed a project for them and they were impressed so they offered me a part-time contractor role at $30 per hour. A few months goes by and they came up with this full-time offer. This is probably not the normal career path in Blind. Probably will get some hate getting a full-time job with no LeetCode? I do Leetcode for fun once in a while so I hope that counts? I turned 19 a few days ago so this was a great late birthday gift. Also shoutout to my super amazing manager who made this possible. TC: 120k Base + 40k (start up money) YoE: 3 Months. Just signed an increased comp offer today. GPA: 7.0/7.0 Location: Company is California-based. I'm not in the US. #engineering #software #swe
Congratulations! You earned it. Don't let anyone steal this happiness from you. It is yours.
Well said, this line made my day. Don't let anyone steal your happiness from you, it is yours đ
Don't waste your money on useless spending. Invest. But also enjoy your life. Stay hungry and keep polishing your leetcode and technical skills.
This. Donât be frugal when investing in yourself either. Invest more than you think you can, there are lots of other threads but auto investing in index funds has yielded me over $1.5M in gains over 15 years. My opinions; donât be frugal on experiences or things you spend a lot of time doing. I always buy highest quality food and ingredients. I try to eat healthy to keep my body and mind right. I donât mind splurging on anything for comfort, like a bed, which I obviously spend a lot of time in.
I'm definitely planning to enjoy a little bit more. Last 2 years were crazy where I completely shut myself off and worked hard and that is not sustainable. Just trying to find the right balance : ) Thanks a lot for both of your advice!

Gives me PTSD just looking at that.
Also ate too much strawberries while picking. I don't like them anymore.
So did you graduate bachelors? I donât think so. Right?
No. I still have one more year left of Uni. They were flexible enough to let me study full time while working full time.
F*cking champ. Congrats! Which location? Approx area also works.
Congrats bud. Like what others said, LC as frequently as you, stay hungry for knowledge and switch as often as you can for high TC. If you play this right you can be a millionaire by the time you are 28.
Thanks a lot for the advice. I hope every goes well!
Do not switch often. Balance with learning and getting context. That's how expertise develops in a field. Else with LC and no long-term experience you won't get into senior role
#theamericandream. Congrats brother.
Thanks brother đ
Congratulations a long way to go!!! Happy for you

Congrats! If I had one piece of advice - make sure to invest in a gym membership and to workout consistently. This is something I didn't do until I hit my mid twenties and I profoundly regret it.
Damn I'm almost 30 and I don't work out. Is it too late?
The deadline is at 26.7 years old. Sorry dude. If you workout now you will die.
based, congrats OP
