Struggling to invest myself in personal development
As a SDE at Amazon, I have a screen time of ~ 8-9 hours a day on an average where I barely get time to do stuff for personal development. By personal development I mean like - learning new stuff related to my technical field, personality development, planning out my finances and getting my life figured out. After some introspection, I identified a primary reason why:
As a tech professional, I am habituated to consuming digital stuff like videos, courses, etc. Anything I need to know about, I watch a quick video about it. Then I try it out on my laptop, watching a SCREEN again. New content I create is also digital - blogs, notes, etc. After ~8-9 hours of screen time at work and ~2-3 hours of leisure screen time I have no capacity to look at a screen again. Isn't ~12 hours of screen time a lot already?
I can't be the only one facing this issue. But I have seen people not only working their day jobs, they have side gigs, do side projects and create digital content, ALL involving screen time. What do you guys do in general to have a healthy dose of screen time?
