Is it worth learning ruby in 2020? Are other companies still using it. #software #engineering #swe
Kinda big at AWS but on the decline in favor of python
Don’t let DHH hear you 🤭
Long live c++ xd!
VIVA LA C++ ❤️
Still the language of choice for embedded and system programming, where predictable behavior is important. Don't see that changing either. Even much low-level cloud infrastructure is written in it.
Declining and dying language.
Who?
Ruby is incredible. It's very developer-friendly. Once you work with it, you'll find it really hard to go back to crap like Java where you'll do tons of boilerplate and annotationPorn. Rails is still large and a number one choice for a lot of startups out there. Performance sucks ass compared to typed languages like Java/Go but productivity increases ten folds.
A lot of ruby devs are picking up elixir / Phoenix
I hope so.
