Am I underpaid as a Sr Reporting and Analytics Manager at T-Mobile?

Hi all, curious if I’m in the ballpark for TC at TMO and generally speaking. Been in the sales, operations and analytics space for Telecom and SaaS for 15+ years but dedicated analytics for just over 5 years. Been with TMO for 2.5.

Base: $132k
Bonus: ~15% ($20k)
Annual Stock: $10k

TC: ~$162k

YOE: 15 in sales (telecom retail mgmt to acct executive) and analytics; 5 of those as dedicated analytics and sales ops.

I know of a colleague that left and was making $20k more in base than I currently do. Looking at Levels.fyi and a few other places, it seems like this is on the lower end but not the lowest.

For context, this job is a mix of technical backend (SQL, Databricks, SSMS, some Python and R for ETL processes), front end (PowerBI, Excel) and managing a vendor team of backend engineers and frontend visualization engineers for stakeholders in sales and marketing—though I have no FTE direct reports of my own.

Prior role at a SaaS startup (200 employees when I left) I was using Tableau for over 2 years and was also the Sr Salesforce Admin. TC there was laughable so when the recruiter at TMO reached out to me and mentioned the salary range being more than double, I of course, was interested.

I’m wanting to look at other jobs outside TMO after bonuses pay out and stocks vest at the end of feb. So I’m genuinely curious what I should be targeting for pay.

EDIT: Updated my stock and TC since I mistakenly put $15k instead of $10k

Which location is this? Also since when is PowerBI and Excel is considered front end?
Does your job actually requires you to code in Python and SQL?

Thanks for your help here! Did some more research and what I've found is my experience seems to align pretty strongly to BI Engineer and if I focus more technically, Data Engineer (especially since I've technically defined and implemented a number of our ETLs).

      Your responses were really helpful.

That sounds good to me! I think this platform opened up my eyes pretty wide, so always happy to pay it forward.

I think with 5 years analytics experience that’s about right, especially since you aren’t managing anyone. The other non-technical experience in ops and sales doesn’t really count for much except indicating that you understand the role and subject manager than someone 5 years out of college. But when negotiating next increase I would fib about the analytics you’ve done over the years to make it like you have more like 8-10 years analytics exp

Thanks! That’s a good call. And it’s not exactly a fib, considering that was a key part of those prior roles—just wasn’t my official title.

Just as a heads up, OP, if you’re an L08 like one of your comments says then your TC is $5k lower than you think. Stock grants at an 8 is $10k vested over three years and not $15k. That would be at an L07 which also includes 20% bonus. That would be a Senior Manager for a leader or a principle title (typically) for an IC

Sounds about right for 5 YOE in Analytics. I have the same YOE and make $160k TC, although as a senior analyst.
