I was contacted by a (clueless) recruiter for Mesosphere, he said that he just started but I felt it they outsource their recruiting.

How is the current situation at the company? I read that recently there were changes with their leadership which makes me unsure about it, but at the same time I saw a lot of people complaining about the old leadership, their tech stack and technology seems interesting

  • Now that Kubernetes is becoming the orchestration defacto, can someone explain why a new customer would pay Mesosphere?

Impressive list of investors, consistent repeat rounds - so clearly there's something I don't understand...

    • It’s been the idea all along, so it’s nothing recent. If you’re only running one thing be it k8s, Cassandra or Kafka, it doesn’t make much sense, I agree. But if you have users to support and want to be able to offer them a catalogue of services then you would want something like DC/OS, because it gives you easier maintenance, operational control, security and a far better resource utilization. Another way to say it, it let’s you save a ton of money, but benefits become apparent if you have more than one or two services to support, and/or more than one environment (cloud/on-prem) to care about.

I don’t agree. Have been following the executives’ messaging and the website. Previously, the focus was on DC/OS as the primary focus after Jupyter got trampled by K8 tsunami. Now the company is realizing that there is more money to be made elsewhere.

It will be interesting 12 months for Mesosphere considering the new leadership is not coming from Cloud background.

  • My friend works there. It's very relaxed, even too much. Salaries are ok - 140k base + paper money for 1 yoe

does he seem bothered about the new CEO or the change in leadership? how is the turn over ? some glassdoor reviews seem not to like the old leadership while others think the new one is a disaster, the problem that both sides regarding this topic is either 5 stars or 1 star
