Lying about your visa status and then asking them at the end for sponsorship

So I currently work in Canada and have been trying to start my life in the US for personal reasons. I am a Canadian citizen however, I feel that I am being weeded out from even some of the top companies for not having visa status to work in the US. I know that it is easy to get TN Visa to work there, but I would require an employment letter for that. Because I'm being weeded out, I don't even get a chance to showcase my work and my skills, even from some of the bigger companies. I wanted to know whether it is ok for me to lie on the initial application and if I did get a job offer, I can ask for it at the end. Atleast I will get a chance to show them work skills.

Sure, some won’t sponsor, but you are likely being weeded out for different reasons.
At best, lying might get you interviews at companies that only consider US candidates. But then what? You get a job at a company that never would have sponsored a visa in the first place, which wastes everyone’s time.
It seems like you’re hoping for, is to get an interview with a company that does sponsor Canadians, but for some reason isn’t picking up your resume. For these companies (that already sponsor) your visa status isn’t the issue…it’s likely your resume.
All my recruiters were thrilled that I was Canadian
Be up front as to your status and what visa you need in order to be authorized to work in the country.
