Role: Software Engineer - UI
TC : 27L (Base, minus PF and Gratuity) + 3L (Joining Bonus) + 2.7L (Performance bonus) + $65k worth of RSUs (25% x 4) ~ 45 LPA
YOE: 2.5
Current TC: 24LPA (All fixed)
Location: Bangalore

Is the offer good? Also, how possible it is to become a full stack developer or be able to contribute to the backend code as well within a year or so while starting as a SWE-UI in LinkedIn. Has anyone done that before? Thanks in advance.

  • Not possible to jump in backend.
Offer is good and solid ~2X jump.
Congrats. Be aware linkedin UI is shit techstack (plain crap JS, Ember, dust)

Culture is good though and that's what people love here

Are there any full-stack dev roles in LinkedIn? Can someone with work experience only in the front-end but with a very good grasp on DSA and LLD go for them? Should I ask HR for such a role instead? Because SWE - UI sounds like a dead-end here.

There were a total of seven rounds. First round was eliminatory. I was asked JS and a design question in JS. The next six rounds are assured. One was the HM round which was pretty much a non-coding round. One was an algorithms round where two questions were asked, one recursion, one DP. One round was based on product taste and grilling on previous work. The other three rounds were around designing widgets or some library like generic throttle/debounce function, designing a calculator, designing the classic snake game, designing generic filters for a search result page along with their interaction with the results.

  • Good offer. Pretty easy to contribute to anything, you are not bound to only UI.

  • Why are you not counting pf? That is your money only. Also many companies deduct both the employee and employer contribution from your base. So you should add that money as well while calculating your tc as well
