Hey guys, crypticdog in the house. I was just wondering your thoughts / opinions on what type of tech company to work for? I am currently interviewing with the following companies: Substack -> series b startup TED Conferences -> non-profit Upstart -> post-IPO "start-up" Spiff -> series b startup Thirty Madison -> series c start up Mission Lane -> series a start up A little background on myself: 3 years full-stack JS experience working at tiny seed startup that isn't going anywhere. Good appetite for risk, worry about being a "cog in the wheel" at larger big tech co What makes the most sense off this list / should I just scrap these opportunities in favor of just going into a FAANG company? #tech #newjob #decisionresourcesgroup #help

H1B ruined everything. Both for Americans and for the Countries where people came from?
What’s important to you? Mission, purpose, cash, longer term equity, growth, learning? Do you want to grow technically, managerial, or as an entrepreneur?
Being early career that is a little fuzzy. Ideal would be to grow technically / entrepreneurially / meet smart people to co-found a startup. What is maybe more practical is trying to gain some credibility on resume given having tiny unknown startup on resume doesn't do much.
Everyone has a different journey, but I would recommend: 1- pick a small/medium high growth company so you get to see how it’s run, you have easy access to C-level, and meet like minded people. You also get large projects that allow you to grow 2- make sure the company has a strong brand name 3- pick a company with a great culture and high transparency For me, those criteria led me to Brex and it’s a phenomenal experience so far.
