Hi Blind, I've been working for a startup (based in SF) for +2 years now, and I managed to save around 200k (I work remotely). However the time has come for me to move to US with a GC. I am tired of my company culture, for the past year, and I have interviewed in Europe (visa isn't a problem for me), and I have the option to move to Europe (say London, Dublin, Amsterdam). I am 26, single, and I believe I am between the choice of money or life. If I drop my current work I lose the GC and likely the high job opportunities in US ($$$). On the other side I will have the experience of living in Europe, taking 25 days off + holidays per year, and travelling. Yes, I will get paid like 50-60% less, but then again, I am young at I believe I can go to the US in the future if I wanted to. If I get a greencard now I feel that I will be "locked" in the US, as you can't really live outside the country, unless you give up your residency. Any thoughts from people that work in US or Europe? (currently I live in a low cost country, not US or any European city as well). TC: 130k
In today’s political climate - get citizenship- then hop around I think tour downplaying the pain / how hard it is to get a gc. Maybe now you lucked into a nice path that got you there relatively quick - but it might not always be the case. Anyhow don’t over fantasize about eu A lot of the countries - not only the col is lower - but also the level of living. That’s my 2 cents as someone with an eu passport that relocated to the us and got his gc recently

I think getting a GC is much harder than traveling and working in Europe, like you cant compare them. Write down your long term goals and decide.
I think this is the main issue. People tell me that I am so close to get a GC, and it is seem as a "golden ticket". Maybe I see it more as golden handcuffs. I also think that if I want to move to US in the future I could go with other visas and eventually GC. My nationality does not have a backlog of applicants.
golden handcuff for 5 years, then you have the citizenship. If you can't endure 5 years, then getting the GC is obviously not your choice. Also, with the current administration and future administration, you never know if your nationality backlog will be merged with other nations like India or China, then you are truly fucked
