SF is a shit hole. Go south to the South Bay and your life will be better.

I call this a huge buying opportunity. I wish I had that kind of cash sitting around to invest.

My friends bought a home in sf without any bidding wars in glen park. That should speak for itself. Others are looking into decent hoa(by sf standards) condos. Some pretty good deals are out there. I believe even if worst case tech moves out, it’s still a tourist city with a lot to offer. Once we learn to live with Covid it will again attract a lot of tourism and probably young renters. Again my opinion.

    • Just a guess but since we gave low rates through 2021 and no foreclosures should continue through next year. The speed will be determined by the stock market. If tesla keeps going up 150 bucks a day people will start to want to diversify their new millions and since money feels meaningless with us all adding so much wealth each day they don't mind a bidding war.

Exactly, SF is a shit hole while the South Bay is a very nice area!

    • I’m with fast - I lived in SF for 3 years and it was awesome. But, now a lot of the things that made it awesome are closed and will be for a while. So why pay the exorbitant cost of living in the city?

Plus the market has been red hot for a while so some people are sitting on enormous appreciation. I don’t think the market will crash, but it’s likely near a short term peak.

  • Inventory has risen and prices are at all time highs... no one is screwed. Helicopter money and asset appreciation is about to go through the roof. SF has almost no inventory. 2x0 is still low. Click bait central. And no, I don't own any real estate in SF sadly.

Just proves why I never feel at “home” in SF. Always feels like this is just a long layover to my next destination
