Inheritance or keep grinding

Disclaimer: yes Iโ€™m well aware that this is first world problems and I have a ๐Ÿฅ„

My parents are moderately wealthy (high 7 figures NW) and are willing to gift me an SF property worth about $2 million that is 90% paid off already. The property has 3 units, 2 of them bring in $6k~ a month. Only condition is that I agree to live in SF (of course), they live in another house in SF.

Now I think Iโ€™m capable of sticking it out in the rat race and grinding it out for more TC and career growth like most people here. I currently enjoy a great lifestyle in NYC living with my girlfriend in a rented apartment in Midtown. NYC > SF. Saving up for a down payment in 1-2 years.

Or, I could move to SF and find some chill remote job with great WLB paying 100k~ just to get health insurance. Or maybe do something else for work entirely. Coast FIRE / lean FIRE.

However there is the sense of guilt and lack of pride for taking the easy way out in life instead of being โ€œself-madeโ€. (*Yes me having rich parents already helps a lot, although I did pay for 50% of my total college costs and had to take out student loans*) My friends and peers who are grinding it out on their own in their careers in tech and medicine may look down on me. I genuinely think I would grow more as an individual figuring things out and building wealth on my own. I know a few spoiled cousins/relatives that are filthy rich from inheritance, but are depressed and have no marketable skills at all. One even wants a normal day job to feel independent and have something to do!

What would you do if you were in this situation? Or am I dumb for even asking this question?

TL;DR Basically the poll options
