I had my visa consulate interview in Hyd, india today and got asked relatively straight forward questions but then was told “we have to do some additional processing on your case, you should hear back in 2-3 days”. I was given the 221(g) white slip and they kept my passport. Visa Officer did not take a look at any documents during the interview and did not ask for any additional documents after asking “Do I need to do anything?”. Has anyone else gotten this? What was the outcome? Ive been on Opt for 2.5 years and this is my first H1B approval via change of status/ first H1B visa interview if that helps.
Might be due to the headcount at Doordash, esp. if VO hasn't heard of it.
Do you mean size of company? They did ask is doordash a startup and I said not really now given 2k employees and over $1B in funding.
VO might have misconstrued it as "trying to be evasive". I would have said "yes, it's a startup" to that question. It's not about your qualifications, it's about their perception. Don't worry though, they will do some background checks on the company and approve your Visa. It happens a lot these days.
Almost the same series of events happened to me last year, I went for stamping after 1 year of being in Opt. It took 2 more additional weeks for them to approve. Even my friends from other FANG companies had similar experience. Just stay calm and be prepared in case it gets further delayed in processing.
It's pretty regular nowadays for people changing from F1 to H1B. Wait for a week. It's about background checks TAL.
Update on ceac website says “Issued” on 8/29. Thank you everyone!

Your case was selected for an audit. In most of the cases, it just means that it will take longer than expected before getting the visa stamp.
