$2.5 Million, Lvl 69 at Microsoft!! Seriously?

The compensation of engineers at FAANG can go this high? Seriously? Edit : This must be for extremely extraordinary people right? But then, what about average people (who simply complete all tasks and yearly targets, no over the top innovations, just 9 to 5 peeps)? How high can they go?

Microsoft h.a.l.l. Nov 25, 2019

Isn't stock like doubling past l66?

Amazon sde3 Nov 25, 2019

L69 is very high up, it is possible.

Are you kidding me. This is their stock grant over 4 years. People enter this wrong all the time. No way other lvl 69 employees are making less than half of this. Don’t be fooled

Microsoft OgUa26 Nov 25, 2019

It’s vesting over 5 years not 4.

Microsoft sleepyguy1 Nov 25, 2019

Some vest over 4.

MSFT stock has quadrupled in the last 6 yrs. Likely to be counting present value of stock grants.

All categories seem high but not absurdly impossible compared to what E8/L8 at FB/Google could make. In particular bonus is very large.

You dont known how hard L69 is. You're way beyond engineering at that point. L67, L68, are very hard to get in themselves if not impossible for most people. At L69 you're a high level executive.

Agree with all comments above. The stock prices of most companies have stayed inflated due to massive stock buybacks which end up exclusively into the pockets of top management. When did sheep and monkeys ever get paid more than grass and peanuts?
