DoorDash and AirBnB may be all the hype but I’m looking for the next Snowflake or Databricks.

I’m especially interested in places that are good for sales roles.

Samsara fits the bill for a hyper growth, pre-ipo, sales-centric company. Our sales engineering division is very strong. Average quota attainment is 150+%

The equity is for sure lower because they know it’s gonna pop. Pay is definitely more than 100k... if you have any experience I’d expect more than that. Also realize that overachievement and accelerators are a huge part of compensation. I made almost double what my pay was on paper via accelerators.

  • Cockroach Labs. Just did a Series E and our growing list of customers love us. We have a great team and leadership and we have big plans for the future of distributed OLTP. We’re all pretty excited about the potential for IPO, being a data infra company with a huge addressable market, although I doubt it’ll happen this year.

    • Is the business actually doing well? How does the growth look? I just can't find much online about it but maybe haven't looked hard enough. I like the company just a bit suspicious of this aspect.

    • Yup the business is doing well and growth is good; exceeding targets and all that good stuff. Lots of big time customers signing on this past year, including lots of huge brand tech companies. As I’m sure you know it takes time to build up a database and its reputation to a point where people really start to trust it. That’s the point we’ve been hitting over the past couple years (and are always working on improving). Once you reach that point the β€œflood gates open”, so to speak, so things are really starting to speed up with the business. Databases are an extremely sticky product with big upsell potential as storage and throughput needs grow.
