Current MBA student, CS degree, 6.5 years as an engineer….Amazon doesn’t want to interview me for PM-T?

Pretty shocked by this tbh. I know other people in my program who have a softer technical background than me get interviewed for PM-T, but I just got the invite for non-tech PM.

Do you think there’s any chances this was a mistake? Is the interview loop different? A lot of my LP stories are tied to my engineering work.

Edit: Asked to be considered for PM-T and they approved. Assuming this was some kind of miscommunication

They usually will consider you as part of the student programs cohort. Did you go that route or regular application?

Yep, went through the student channels. To clarify, I did get the interview, just for PM and not PM-T. Just surprised considering my background

  • Amazon usually hires MBAs for PM roles like crazy. Infact, it is one of the top recruiters for many schools. This is interesting ! Also, which MBA program ?

To clarify, I did get an interview, just for PM and not PM-T, which I find odd considering my background. I go to a t15 program

Email your recruiter and ask if you can be considered for PM-T given your background. You have some influence in how you’re interviewed. However, this may cause delays in your interview so just be aware

Probably because PMT is really hot, and they gave priority to M7
