it bothers me enough to get cold emails from recruiters, but nothing beats those from amzn.

they sound cocky and pushy and after reading one paragraph, i am ready to reply with a "f--- you".

you dont say "you have been selected for an amazing opportunity bla bla. please reply with your resume and current compensation bla bla" when you email random people on LinkedIn.

even if i applied, i wont disclose my compensation on the first email. lets put that info on my linkedin profile while we are at it.

is it how amzn train them or you guys just hire the dumbest?

Amazon works with more external recruiters than say Google or Facebook, so the quality is variable. And they aren't well coordinated. I've gotten multiple Amazon recruitment emails within a 24 window.

FWIW, the engineering culture there is more humble and less tolerant of egotists and jerks than the companies you'd compare them to. Recruiting... well, recruiting is recruiting. If you're looking, I encourage you to look past the bullshit, call the recruiter's bluff on anything you don't want to give them (salary, etc.), and walk away if they try to force you. You'll get another shot.

i am not even looking. they find me on linkedin and make it sounds like i applied and should comply to their ask to be in the queue.

the ones from linkedin, google netflix always sound friendly and just looking for an intro to explore further.

are amzn folks dumb or arrogant?

Yeah, then whatever. I ignore recruiter spam regardless of source (and don't have a LinkedIn partly because of this).

I only dealt with in-house Amazon recruiters, who were much more reasonable than you're describing. I'll guess it's a headhunter/full-time thing, and Amazon uses headhunters more than you'd expect. The people who actually work there full-time are okay.

had both good and bad. yes, they source from linkedin as my LinkedIn profile includes key words I can use to 'screen' these headhunters. typically, I give them the runaround. if they want to waste my time why can I make it worth my while?

I've spoken to a couple of them. They were great, super friendly and sounded like they are trying hard to get you in - which would make sense if they were external, didn't know that.
The interviewers though - that could be random. I've spoken to some awesome awesome guys and some not so.
