Do u people feel much happier in life compared to the life with low TC?

Why are we going for more n more TC? Personally couldn’t get the answer, hence the question.

Thanks.

Happiness decreases as you make more money as stress increases

  • Much much happier. Went from 120tc to 200tc and within a year at 300tc. The improvement in life quality is incredible. I can drop $1k on something and not even think twice, that used to be weeks of saving lost. Once factoring in mortgage, food, gas, etc., what's left I'm saving at 7x the rate I used to be. The end is in sight whereas before it was work until retirement age. That alone is a game changer in mental health knowing I can stop in maybe 10 years if the markets do well.

I agree with this, having done similar going from 120 to 350+ TC. It's the early retirement that is a big boost and having the end in sight. Now it's really just fear that things change in our industry and insane TCs are no longer possible..or the stock market tanks that really scares me.

But not to say there's nothing wrong anymore with life, far from it, but it's one HUGE monkey off your back I think if your savings rate has you able to retire if needed in 10-15 years rather than 30-40+.

Biggest wealth is your age and health .. sounds like a broken record , but most people don’t really internalize this fact.. My TC is $450k. I am 34 years old but I am biologically 10 years older. Lost interest in a lot more of things . I’m a workaholic . I have been a lifelong nerd . I always worked smart and hard but in the process of making money and growing fast financially , I lost the ability to enjoy life . If you ask me what truly gives me joy and keeps me content , I don’t know .
So, my 2 cents is , work is always going to be there , there is no dearth of opportunities, stay hungry , work hard but don’t give yourself excuses to stop working once in a while to smell the roses and count your blessings . Don’t forget your health and lose relationships. Don’t become an introvert .

You answered the wrong question. But then you probably knew that.

Pretty much the same except I can buy some expensive stuff without blinking and opening up my bank app.
