I was checking Shareworks and found something odd. Suppose, 100 shares vested on some day. The portal shows me a part of these 100 shares were sold to cover taxes which I understand. However, the tax rate shown is 44.076% which is greater than 30% the max tax slab in India. Can someone help me understand what is going on here and why the tax rate is 44.076%?
