Upwork - freelancing platform commonly used for web dev
Basically got contacted by this foreign national saying they need a US citizen as a front man for their work. Claims they can bring in a lot of $$ and I can get a cut of it without doing any dev work.
Is it too good to be true, or is it a lucky arrangement? I want them to be able to profit like an American freelancer would, and I certainly wouldn’t mind the money as I am saving up to buy a live dolphin.
Questionables:
They want to remote into my computer to handle the Upwork account, claims Upwork will know if account is accessed in a foreign country. Offers though to buy a new computer if I’m uncomfortable with it.
What I need to know or want for it to work:
If I get a new computer, ensure my location and other private details is concealed.
How do I handle taxes if my cut is only marginal? Can I profit considerably while eating the total incurred taxes with my cut?
