Atlassian recruiter/hiring manager you there?

Feb 24 14 Comments

As the title says, I interviewed at Atlassian in September 2021 and HR said I got the job but not for the team I was initially interviewed for.

While the HR was looking for other teams I got DocuSign, conveyed the same to my HR and she said “I cannot find any team right now”.

Is there a way I can be re-considered for the position? You need an engineer? I am happy to connect.

  • OP why do you want to work at Atlassian? They pay well below market, product growth has stagnated, and product is also easily replacable. Rather work at Asana, Notion as they still have room to grow.

    • @sigmagribd Lol, looks like the loyal Atlassian employee, who's desperately trying to get people to join, got offended. News flash, I don't work for ICF anymore, but rather a FAANG and I'm paid well above the average Atlassian comp. A recruiter contacted me asking for an interview, had no clue about the team or role, no clue about the space and then lowballed me saying Atlassian can only afford to pay so much. No wonder your products are full of bugs. Just because there's no alternative, doesn't mean the product is good.

  • Atlassian recruiters are terrible. I’ve been told by the recruiter that the team is considering me for the offer and later got rejection. The company has got a big name but recruitment process needs to be streamlined

    • It's difficult because we are hiring so rapidly that are recruiters are overwhelmed and also sometimes positions are needed filled asap by an HM so if timelines don't work out good candidates can get passed over. Generally our recruiters do try to get good candidates placed somewhere but occasionally people fall through the cracks.

    • I agree with rapid hiring process. I had a great experience meeting with the hiring manager and the team. It was not a good experience working with the recruiter. I was asked to give availability for the onsite interview in a week's time as the atlassian offices were closed in the last two weeks of december. A day after the interview, I got an update from the recruiter that the team has given really good feedback and would like to move to the offer. I waited until first week of January for the next steps and I got another phone call to hear that the team is considering someone with strong stakeholder management experience. I guess the team found some internal candidate?! Based on my conversation with the team members, it looks like atlassian has a great work culture when compared to similar companies. But I would not work for a company with such terrible hiring practices
