Salesforce (product) hiring managers: What are you expecting from candidates?

Mar 30 4 Comments

I have a Salesforce product manager interview coming up. Hiring managers:

- How much salesforce knowledge are you expecting from candidates?

- What competencies do you want candidates to stress?

- What are some things that a candidate has done / said during an interview that really impressed you?

- Any other tips?

  • Not a hiring manager but we don't expect any Salesforce knowledge. It's great if you know, but not necessary. Having said that, we appreciate if you do some research and form an opinion on who could be the target customer for the cloud you are interested in. You know, basic PM stuff you do when evaluating a product.

General PM competency is a must. Do you understand the problem? How do you approach a solution? How do you prioritize? What are your values?

Product strategy plays a big role. How do you approach product strategy?

This is all not rocket science. Salesforce interviews are pretty chill actually..culture fit is very important. We have a good culture going on in the company. We don't want assholes to ruin it.

As long as you are doing your PM stuff properly, there shouldn't be any issue getting through. The group presentation is the key. If I were you, I'd spend a lot of time on that.
