I joined Google as a L4 Software Engineer this year with a low-ball offer and didn't have the guts to negotiate because I did not have a competing offer and really wanted to switch companies. Since I do not have a proper mentor, I would like to get some candid advice on how to progress further.

Get better, and/or switch to another FAANGMULA for a higher L4, or wait a couple of years and switch to a L5.
Google is like a retirement home that preys on academic types that are too afraid to try other companies and are willing to accept low ball offers just for the brand name. Get that brand and some experience and move to somewhere more dynamic place where you can actually grow fast.
You do realise compensation depends on experience, right?
Well tbh I was moved by the other posts on blind. I see people getting 400 and still there are comments saying that is too low.
Also, my work hours are not the typical Google work hours. Involves oncalls which are not paid, high stress environment, etc. This made me feel like I maybe made a mistake.
P.S. I have no problems getting laid, thank you for the concern!

Honestly blind is making me think too much about TC and I am not liking that. I was happy with my TC until I stumbled upon this website
Your TC for one year is fantastic
