Google PM interview - complete Analytical interview

I am preparing for my Google second rounds and specifically for the analytical ones. I realize that at times I create such a complex formula that I will take a while to get to the answer.
Do I need to get to the final number or is it okay if the interviewer stops me after a while and moves on to the next question or end of the interview?
I sometimes break down the problem into smaller segments and then there are exceptions , etc and I feel it takes a long time.#productmanager #product #pm

If the scenario is ambiguous, make/state some assumptions to nail down the problem/business case, set out your principles, then work through the scenario. Say what you’re prioritizing and why, mention the metrics you’d use. But make sure you get to a number.
As a bonus, when you’re done, say what other approaches you would take if you had time to confirm the result. Or say how you would price it, if relevant. Or if it’s a biz scenario, explain how changing some of your original assumptions would alter the outcome.
