Received an offer from Blue owl for Sr. Engineering. Is Blue owl any good ? Can someone working there tell me more about how is it like working there or share their experiences with Blue owl.

Blue Owl offer TC : $200k no equity no bonus.

My current TC ($215k) is more but I was impacted by WeWork layoffs.

    They were stuck at 200k I asked for 250k. I rejected the offer - best decision so far

      @OP, you’re right. They were at 200K for SFO. I was asking 230K. They weren’t going any higher. But were okay to give the above offer if I’m willing to work from where I’m currently at.

    I hear that Blue Owl can go up to around $250k. I hear $300k+ for manager roles. Don’t be scared to push. They don’t give you any equity. Gotta make the base count!

    I know people who used to work there. A bunch of entrepreneur wannabes without the hustle coz the whole thing is funded by statefarm. The tech lead has zero people skills. They are trying hard to model tech cult but statefarm is statefarm. The product is unlikely gonna go big.

  • All I know is that State Farm is funding/owns Blue Owl so it should have the safety net of of big insurance funding.

    How was the interview process like? Location?

      Interview was 4 hr of solving/coding a small project in front of a engineer online. Day2 - spoke to the manager and director for 45 min. Day 3 - 1 hr conversation with VP of engineering.
