Trying to determine if I got played. Got through final interview round at Databricks and was told they would be in touch soon. Feedback from my impression was good. Got through all interviews in less than 2 weeks (non-tech). Recruiter pinged me and asked to talk comp/timing etc, naturally, I thought an offer was coming. So I talk to recruiter who discusses pay band, timing, etc. Pay is slightly less than what I make now and so I gave that feedback. Told him we are in same ballpark though, and I'm very interested. Haven't heard back in two days since that call. Anyone else with this experience? Discussing comp after final interview seemed very odd to me. Usually something they'll broach in screening call as a first step. Feel like they didn't know how to price the job, and while they want 10 years of experience, want to pay for way less. Any insight?
