Starting in late June. Any employees feel extra unsafe given the rescinded offers to contractors?

I have a pretty safe job atm, comp at Google is more but stability is important to me.

Wow! What job do you have that you think can be safer than Google FTE

    • Google isn't a charity and will have plenty of fat it can trim from all teams as well as close down useless products that aren't profitable

Google is paying 1000$ to each employee for furniture. Getting monitor, mouse and keyboard delivered to home. I don't see any signs of layoffs happening anytime soon (2+ years).

Heard from my leadership connection at Google that everything will be put on the table.

      OP
Wonder if they did a poor job of identifying "critical" roles then...

There can always be cost cuttings in underperforming units, never say never. Also never let the "oh they have sooo much cash so there won't be lay offs" fool you! Historically we have seen rich companies lay off a lot too.

I am also in the same boat OP. I am also worried tbh. But I guess they are only extending offers for **critical** roles and therefore won't rescind FTE offers. What do you think?
