I took a UX course at general assembly 5 1/2 years ago. After graduating, I accepted an offer as an interaction designer for 58k. After 2 years I got a title bump to SR. Interaction designer. I’m currently 5 years in and my base is 114k. I also do way more than just interaction design. I should have a UX designer title. My confidence is low because I’ve been at the same company for all these years and have had no design leadership to help me grow. I feel like I’m stunting my growth and could be making more money.

Room for growth? Yes.
Rework your portfolio. Prepare for interviews. Interview everywhere. Fail. Fail some more. Learn from your mistakes. Then you get the opportunity you’re looking for.
Best of luck.

Someone in Apple may be different but apart from Apple, and few here and there I dont think UX guys should set very high expectations!!
