Have a citadel offer on their hedge fund side and was wondering what teams are known to have better (tech) culture/talent, better WLB, and better management. I have a lot of freedom to choose which team I'll be on. Based on my background and experience, recruiter told me that a front office team on GQS would be a good fit, but I don't know enough about the organization to know whether that's true or not. YOE: 3 TC: 600-800 first year, 400 recurring
what is the TC breakdown? that seems really high for 3 yoe
400k is 175k salary and 225k expected end of year bonus. I have a non-compete for my current job that's up to 1+ years, so they will give me 200k for every potential bonus I'll lose by sitting out during non-compete.
I was also surprised by the offer. I had nothing to lose so asked for a pretty high number and told them that I was interviewing at other places to force their hand
Damn, what a crazy offer. I couldn't even get past their hackerrank.
Shit I couldn't even get a hackerrank quiz but TBH I didn't have any referrals.
That's a really high offer for 3 yoe. Congrats! I don't know much about wlb but a front office role in GQS puts you very close to the PnL where you could make more money
What are the other teams except GQS in your options? Do you know which team you would join if you decide to join GQS? You will be closer to the PnL if you are joining as a researcher but not much as a swe
I can choose from the whole asset management side for teams. Won't go through official team matching until a few months prior to my start date. I was suggested GQS because there's apparently a few teams there where I can work more directly with traders/researchers. During my interview process, I made it clear that I would enjoy working with them but don't want any role where I'm just told what to do by traders/researchers.
How was the on-site interview? Was it just LC + System Design + behavioral?
Yeah it was LC + System Design + Behavioral. There was also some focus on making things production quality and clean.
i have an onsite coming up soon (albeit for internship). how did you find the difficulty compared to traditional tech companies? or general perceived difficulty
Can you please tell pros and cons of IMC? also is it a c++ or java shop? and How does the TC progression looks there?
Citadel X sounds fairly innovative.
To the citadel folks, how does the hedge fund and bd compare, in terms of work (for a low-latency software/hardware specialist), wlb and comp?
How much non compete citadel is offering you ?
I think it's base salary for a year
I meant what would be the length of non compete at citadel. They have an image of very long non competes
