Please mention: yoe before Netflix, yoe at Netflix, comp and role (be specific if possible e.g. backend/iOS/distributed system etc). While you are at it, mention how much increase you got in 2020.

While managers can increase your salary at any point.

There’s a official period of the year... usually October-November for comp review. Basically managers collect information on how much people with similar skills are making in other companies like google, etc. You are also encourage to be part of this and collect your own data points. Of course if you show a blind thread that wouldn’t help. Some people interview to get offers through the year and understand the market, others trust on manager collecting data via their relationships, etc

After that period, managers analyze each person situation: market changes, your impact at Netflix, etc. basically manager has to find answer to: what could person get in other companies? What would Netflix be willing to pay to keep that person? What would be replacement cost?

One important thing to mention is that if you have a unique skill and google is willing to pay you 1 million as example, Netflix can say, well good luck there because your team or the company might not need that skill so paying for it isn’t ideal.
