i have an interview at google in 3 weeks, for a frontend position. the recruiter told me i can only code in Java, python or C++, 3 of which i dont know. i currently only know javascript.
in 3 weeks, what’s the most easy to learn out of the 3 languages?

  • Learn python, it's much less verbose than Java and C++ as such much better for interviewing

Python is the easiest of the 3 to pickup. It much less verbose and will save you time during the exercise.

The real question is why the recruiter is having you write in another language.

If I were you, study python, but at the start of your interview ask the interviewer if you can do it in JavaScript since you’re applying to a front end position. More than likely they will be okay with it.

  • Don’t believe what the recruiter said
I had similar experience that I was told only C++ / Java
I was more comfortable with Python and recruiter said a big NO to Python
During the interview they asked which language I want to use and I said Python without any hesitations and we proceeded and also got offer at the end

The recruiter said for the phone interview I can only code in one of these, and she’ll try to arrange it so I can code in js in the on-site interview
