I am going to be very honest here. I asked on Blind for a referral for a role for the very first time last week. I am not comfortable asking someone unknown for favor, and that is because I don’t want to put them in that position. But as so many people got referrals here, I asked.
When the person gave me their email address in dm , I asked if I can know their name, just to avoid scam and I would be sharing my resume as I had my contact info n all on it. That person was so offended, he said “Lol,you just cost yourself a referral “. What was so wrong about what I said? I understand that you might not want to share your name and thats fine, but there are better ways to say that. Why act so high and mighty?
I have referred a 100 people at Visa and never did I throw such sass at someone.
This is just 1 example I am giving here, I have not had good interactions with Apple employees in general. Very holier-than-thou vibes.
Another Apple person did refer me, she was sweet as pie.
