After 3 years out of undergraduate, i’m doing a one year bootcamp.

Is it possible to apply as a new grad when a company specifies BS/MS/PhD student as a requirement? I’ve seen some companies like Twitch mentions bootcampers are welcomed but these are only few.

You’re right. But it would be nice to know, so that I have realistic expectation and rather focus on searching and appying to startups instead of large corporations

  • I’m in a similar situation as you - I graduated college in 2019 and went to a boot camp in oct of 2019 (I had a natural science degree but wanted to switch to tech) I was told once by a Microsoft recruiter that your “new student” status expires a year after you graduate college and after you get put in the pool of regular candidates. I did however recently receive an offer for a new grad position at another large tech company, but i believe they based it off my college graduation and not the completion of the boot camp

I think if you already have a Cs degree, then don't go to bootcamp.
