I got a verbal offer from Splunk for P3 role in Vancouver around 3 weeks back. I really liked the team and the work, and was in the process of discussing the offer details, and was waiting for the written offer.
After few days, the recruiter came back saying that the team is in a 'holding pattern due to an internal restructuring', and hence, the offer is delayed indefinitely.
Due to uncertainty, I accepted the offer from Microsoft that week and currently background processing is going on.
Last week, the recruiter came back with the update that they can get the offer now if I am still interested. I am still interested but really skeptical about their flaky behavior. Need honest opinions here, is it likely that the team was actually in a restructuring? Or was it just a ruse to keep me as a secondary option while they interviewed other candidates? Should I still consider joining them?
If I decline the accepted offer from Microsoft now would it be a problem if I need to interview/join them in future?
Thanks in advance!

How many years of experience?
If I was making 180 I wouldn’t move for 200/225 though, I would aim for 250+
