I am sick of the bay area housing market (and frankly the overall vibe) and planning to go full remote. I am moderately outdoorsy - I love hiking, camping, biking and have recently picked up climbing indoors. Don't mind the cold as long as it's not horrible like Chicago or Minnesota! I DO NOT like hot weather.
What are my options? I want to keep my total budget under 1m, and want a 3-4 bedroom house with a lot of space. The more the merrier.
My primary requirement is being in a (or close to a) city with vibrant culture, decent dating scene (dont care about meeting desis), and easy access to nature. I dont plan to get married or have kids in next 5 years. What are my options?

Housing can be rough but it depends on if you are ok with a small yard / close neighbors or if you need significant space. 1M can find you some decent stuff, it just hurts to pay that much for some of it that shouldn't be worth half of what it is... but that's the case in many places now
$1m housing budget will have you living like royalty.
